Licensing of non-EU medics

The recognition of licenses for medical doctors in Europe is handled very differently. While there is for doctors within the EU an automatic recognition according to the EU directive 2013/55/EU, the recognition of doctors who come from outside the EU is not regulated and standardised. In the Issue 366 of University World News Global Issue ii is described that the recognition of non-EU medics in Sweden may take up to four years.
