AMSE at the 77th Annual Conference of the German Association of Medical Faculties, 26-27 May 2016, in Würzburg / Germany

The German Association of Medical Faculties (MFT) is an association of medical training and research centres in Germany, which take care in more than 70 different courses for the training of about 93,000 students of medicine, dentistry and health sciences. It is a non-profit organisation based in Berlin. Voting members are 37 German Medical Schools, added guest faculties from abroad. The MFT is working closely with partner organisations, in particular in Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The MFT is among others Member of the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE), the General Faculties (AFT) and the German Academic Medicine.

The main topics of the symposium were:

  • medical infrastructure
  • Excellence Initiative
  • Masterplan Medical Education 2020
  • interprofessional education
  • structured doctoral programmes in medicine and dentistry

The President of AMSE Prof Peter Dieter presented in a lecture how common standards of medical education and medical institutions can protect the quality of physicians worldwide.
