AMSE at the 6th Beyond MEd Meeting 23 Oct 2019, Lisbon / Portugal

Beyond MEd (Beyond Medical Education) is organized by the Pedagogic Council of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMUL), in association with the Department of Medical Education (DEM) and the Faculty of Medicine Students’ Association (AEFML).

The essence of the event is to strive for a deeper and wider understanding of Medical Education in its entirety, broadening the horizons of our participants (students, teachers, investigators and physicians), empowering them as proponents of change and free-thought in our faculty. As such, we find it extraordinarily important to present bold paradigms and novel perspectives, laid out by experts.

In this year’s edition on October 23rd, 2019, 6th Beyond Med focused on Educational Assessment.

The meeting was arranged in workshops, round table discussions, poster sessions and 4 lectures. The speakers of the lectures were

Prof. José Miguel Pêgo, Portugal

Prof. Ray Land, UK

Prof. Andrew Lees, UK

Prof. Peter Dieter, Germany.

The title of the lecture of the lecture of Peter Dieter was: Teacher (Educator) Training: Should the teachers (educators) be taught?
