Prof. Kamil Torres, MD, PhD, DSc

Prof. Kamil Torres, MD, PhD, DSc (born in 1978) is a general and plastic surgeon, as well as an expert in medical education and medical simulation. He serves as Vice-Chair of the Polish Accreditation Committee. He is a professor at the Medical University of Lublin, where he has been Vice-Rector for Education and Teaching since 2020. He is a co-founder and Head of the Medical Simulation Center at the Medical University of Lublin. He graduated from the Medical Academy of Lublin in 2002 and further broadened his education at institutions like Lublin University of Technology and the University of Edinburgh. He participated in training programs at Harvard Medical School and Virginia Commonwealth University. Until 2025 – Visiting Professor at KU Leuven. He has edited textbooks on medical simulation and co-authored and coordinated European Union projects focused on the development of medical education. He is also a member of expert teams advising the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science.
Professor Torres was elected member of the AMSE Executive Committee in 2026.
