ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The conference will provide a platform for medical schools to share their experiences and best educational practices in patient-centred and community-engaged healthcare.
The conference will feature keynote speeches, lectures, panel discussions, workshops and short communications. The main topics will be cover:
- Person and people-centred integrated health care
- Health professionals wellbeing
- Trauma informed health care and education
- Patient safety
- Health education curricula to meet community health needs
- Health education for inclusivity and diversity, health professionals for the real world
- Resident training beyond competencies
- The patient-doctor-AI dynamics
- What students as future physicians, consider relevant and important for health education
Participants will have the opportunity to network with experts and peers from across Europe and gain insights into the latest developments in medical education, research and patient care concerning medical schools in Europe and beyond.
ABOUT THE HOST
The School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) was founded in 1942. It accounts more than 30,000 graduates with a great impact on science, healthcare and the society. A vibrant community of currently 3,000 undergraduate students in a Greek- and an English-speaking curriculum, 2,600 postgraduate students in 54 postgraduate programs, 1,000 doctoral students and more than 300 faculty members in active collaborationwith more than 50 medical schools all over the world. Faculty members are motivated educators, clinicians and biomedical scientists dedicated to inspiring students to have vision and claim agency for a lifetime of learning and serving in health sciences.
The venues are the School of Medicine, AUTh and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. The School of Medicine, on the main AUTh campus, is located in the centre of the city of Thessaloniki, within walking distance to historical city landmarks. The Thessaloniki Concert Hall Conference Halls are located next to the popular seafront promenade.
By plane, with many flights connecting Thessaloniki to all major European airports. By car, a pleasant drive from neighbouring countries. The weather is expected to be mild in October.
